A Few Completed Pages

I worked on a few pages this weekend. The first is from my monthly calendar class where we make a calendar page, two page layout and a card. It was designed by Tonna. The photos are from the fireworks following the Reno Aces game on Fourth of July.

The send set were finished today after I made the title. I went to a silhouette basics and welding class yesterday where I learned to "weld" the letters and make "shadows".

Half the Year!!

July, really???? I can't believe it. The rest of the year has many things in store for me and my family. July will bring a trip to Bodega Bay for us with Sheryl, Blaine, Barbara and Randy. In August it is Erin's Birthday, Steve's Birthday and a new little one at the end of the month. September will be a move for my office, October a meeting in Seattle and then November and December holidays!!

As the months go by it is definitely going to be fun to watch the little ones grow. Hard to believe that Aiden turned one in June and that Ben will be here before we know it. Being a grandparent is one of the best things in the world.

Ramblings

Monday again! Why is it that I have such great plans to get lots of things done over the weekend and I hardly get anything done? Is it because I took too many naps or slept in too long?????? I really wanted to wash my car but it is going to rain Tuesday and Wednesday - great excuse. I really wanted to get upstairs cleaned but I am just going to lay down for a few minutes. I really wanted to get more scrapbooking done but I think I will take a nap. More excuses than Carter has liver pills..........

This week I am going to be good with drinking water and getting some exercise. Maybe I was so tired over the weekend because I had not gotten on the treadmill since Wednesday night. I will get five days in if it kills me this week. I really need to lose ten pounds before I turn 50 on May 15th. That gives me 38 days which means I need to lose about a pound a week to get there. I will be better!!!

There are some other items that need to be accomplished this week and I am going to make it my goal to do them. I want to start a little spring cleaning on Friday afternoon and over the weekend so I need to get the rest of these things done in the evenings.

Surprise

Yesterday Ryan dropped by the office to give me our anniversary gift. He and Rachel are so kind and generous to us. I cannot believe he gave us a wonderful gift certificate to mine and Jim's favorite restaurant - the Washoe Grill. I can't wait to use it.
This weekend is going to be a relaxing one. It is supposed to be 70 degrees and I want to take advantage of it by getting out there and walking. My birthday is coming upon me and I have 10 pounds to lose before I go back home to visit my family. I also want to get some scrapbooking done. I am in hopes of getting this year caught up so that I can work currently and on everything from 2008. Here's to a great one!!

Twenty Years

Today Jim and I celebrated our twentieth anniversary. Wow!!! It seems like just a few years have gone by. We aren't ones to celebrate too much so Jim decided to pick up a rotisserie chicken from Safeway and then he picked up Quantum of Solace. We watched it after dinner and then followed that with Survivor. And of course, we were doing laundry at the same time. Some things never change. Jim gave me iTunes and Starbucks gift cards and I gave him an iTunes gift card - great minds think alike.

Wine Tasting and the Eden Vale Inn

We took a trip last weekend over to Placerville with Al and Roberta. We stopped in Auburn for dinner. I had never been to Old Town Auburn, what a darling little place. I think that we need to take some time and wander around in the little shopes and sip a glass of wine at Carpe de Vino. Dinner was at the Ale House. It was awesome and the sweet potato fries were to die for.

We then headed for the Eden Vale Inn. This is a cute place that is a renovated barn. The people that own it are relatives of Al's friend MaryBeth. It is not open yet so it was a trial run for the owners. Our room was beautiful.
On Saturday we went to four wineries: Dillians, Sobon, Dobra and TooGood. It was fun to wine taste in Amador County. My only complaint were the winding, twisting roads - I was car sick!! Doesn't make for a good stomach to taste wine on.

Something To Think About

I saw this saying on a set of espresso cups at Starbucks. They were tied together with a brown grosgrain ribbon and an ivory tag. It read:

Sit
Talk
Write
Read
Eat
Listen
Be

Batch Cupcakery

I went for the first time today. I think you need to go mid-morning to get all the good flavers but I was able to pick up a PB, No J and a Pumpkin Spice. Jim and I shared the PB, No J. It was very moist and the peanut butter frosting was pretty tasty. Tomorrow we will try the Pumpkin Spice..... yummo!!!

Last Layout for Today

These pages really went together very easily. I like the clean, simple lines.

Our Cute Boy

Another layout of Aiden. I am working hard to get caught up on all of his pictures before the new little one comes along in August.

Back to the Normal Routine

Tomorrow Jim goes back to work. Somehow this seems to bring life back to normal. Maybe it is because I hate getting out of bed when he is still laying there.

It is freezing here, I just can't seem to get warm!! I wanted to scrapbook today but didn't have any mojo (thinking maybe that was because my fingers and brain were frozen!!). Instead I watched The Family Stone and started The Wedding Date. Hopefully, I will get some of that mojo back. I would like to finish up the pages that I have started so that I can take Aiden's album with me to Vegas to share with Erin in less than two weeks.

We celebrated Ryan's birthday last night. We had pork chops, sweet potatoes, corn and salad. No Cake!!! With the wheat and gluten allergy that sort of eliminates the sweets. Okay with me, helps with the diet.

Rachel is feeling really sick. She can't really eat much so she has lost several pounds. I am sure when the morning sickness is over she will get back on track. They had their first ultrasound on Friday and Ryan called me before 8:00 AM all excited and couldn't wait to tell me that they saw the baby's heart beating. They both said that they were glad that there was only one baby and not twins. I think that is probably a good thing too!

A New Year!

I spent the day scrapbooking at TMI with some new and old friends. We had a lot of laughs. I did about 4 or 5 two page layouts but none of them are finished. Basically it was just the background and pictures so now I need to go back and add my embellishments and journaling. What a fun way to start the new year.

I don't have any real resolutions. As usual, I would like to lose some weight. I have pretty much maintained for the last three months and now it is time to get serious again. I definitely need to work on some strength conditioning as my arms and legs feel so weak most of the time. Something going on there, just not sure what. I will try to strengthen the muscles first and if it doesn't get better than I will get it checked out. So I guess that would be a good resolution to work with (weights two or three times a week). I think I will go to Scheel's this weekend for some resistance band and maybe a Bender Ball.

This year will bring a new baby for Ryan and Rachel and a first birthday for Aiden. Can't wait to visit him in two weeks.
